BREEDING HEALTHY, BEAUTIFUL, STANDARD SIZE SHEEPADOODLES
Spreading joy one puppy at a time.
Our final litter went home in January, 2025. Mopsy is sceduled for her spay and we cannot, in good conscience, breed Maggie. We will not be having any puppies in the foreseeable future. We have loved every minute of dreaming about, birthing, and raising our amazing puppies, but without another healthy mother we say goodbye to this part of our lives and just get to love Mopsy and Maggie as our pets.
ABOUT WAGS AND WOOL SHEEPADOODLES
Wags and Wool Sheepadoodles is located in Holland, MI, breeding standard size sheepadoodles. We love this beautiful, fun-loving breed and think you will too! We are not a big operation. We only have 1 litter a year and the puppies are raised in our home with a lot of attention and love. Over the years we have experienced a lot of heartache because of physical and mental problems in pure bred dogs. We are strong believers in the vigor of hybrid dogs. We prioritize the health and well-being of our animals from birth until they leave with their forever family and throughout their lifetimes.
THE BREED
Sheepadoodles are a cross between a Poodle and an Old English Sheepdog (OES). Poodles are known as one of the most intelligent breeds, notorious for their ease of training. They are active, fun-loving dogs. Many people don't realize that poodles were bred to be retrievers and they have a love of water.
Old English Sheepdogs are known to be sweet-tempered, intelligent dogs with a clownish personality. They are quick learners and were bred to be herding dogs. They only shed when brushed and their hair is always growing which means that they require regular grooming.
Crossing these 2 breeds produces offspring that are easy to train, intelligent, and fun-loving. They tend to like water and may "herd" their people, bumping them lightly with their noses. They make fantastic family pets, are good with other animals, and because they inherit both parents' non-shedding coat, they are one of the only doodle breeds that is virtually guaranteed not to shed. Most people with allergies have no problem with Sheepadoodles. They do require a moderate amount of exercise and regular grooming. Both OES and Poodles have a fading gene, so most Sheepadoodles fade from black and white to grey and white as they age.

HYBRID VIGOR
The American Heritage Dictionary defines hybrid vigor as "increased vigor or superior qualities arising from the crossbreeding of genetically different animals.” Cross breeding produces stronger offspring. Most traits that are problematic in a breed are not passed on unless they are present in both parents.
PARENTS

MOPSY
Sheepadoodle dam
Mopsy is the Mom of Wags and Wool's puppies but she is so much more than that. She is a member of our family, is a goofy bundle of joy, and is exceptionally sweet. Mopsy has a personality that is hard to forget, and cuddling with this super-soft ball of fur is amazing!
Mopsy is an F1b sheepadoodle. This means that she is a 2nd generation sheepadoodle; her mother is 50% Old English Sheepdog and 50% Poodle, and her father is a standard poodle. Therefore she is 75% poodle, 25% OES. This increases her hypoallergenic properties. As you can see she has the sheepdog look and a wonderfully soft, fluffy coat that doesn't shed. In my mind this is exactly what a doodle-dog should be!

JAYBER
Old English Sheepdog Sire
Jocular "Jayber" Ailes of Wales, is a registered Old English Sheepdog. He is a sweet, cuddly bundle of energy. His thick, fluffy coat begs for a snuggle.

INTRODUCING MAGGIE!
Born on 9/16/22 Maggie will take over mommy duties when she's 2. Her genetic testing was great and we are waiting for results on her joint testing before we breed her. She loves people and keeps us laughing with her goofy personality. She has a nearly straight, long, luxurious coat. She is an f1, first generation doodle, half poodle and half OES. I can't wait to see her babies!
UNFORTUNATELY, MAGGIE'S PENNHIP RESULTS WERE NOT FAVORABLE, SO WE WILL NOT BE BREEDING HER. WE ARE VERY SAD NOT TO USE HER AS A MOTHER AS SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT, BUT SHE IS A WONDERFUL PET!

ABOUT HEALTH TESTING
MOPSY:
Mopsy was tested for all genetic health problems associated with both Old English Sheepdogs and Poodles through Paw Prints Genetics. She was "Normal (clear)" for every test. We also spared no expense using a PennHIP test, the most accurate testing for Hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. She has a below average Distraction Index, the percent out of joint the femoral head is displaced from the acetabulum, indicating a low risk for osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia. Her OFA evaluation showed no evidence of elbow dysplasia.

OFA
JAYBER:
As with Mopsy, we wanted to be sure of Jayber's health before breeding him. Paw Prints Genetics ran a battery of tests for known Old English Sheepdog health problems. Jayber was clear on all of them. We also tested his hips, using the quantitative PennHIP evaluation. Jayber scored below average, with no evidence of osteoarthritis. As Jayber is not yet 2 years we were able to do preliminary OFA evaluation which found no evidence of elbow dysplasia.

JAYBER'S PEDIGREE
Jayber is an AKC registered Old English Sheepdog

MAGGIE:
We used Embark to test Maggie's genetics. As with Mopsy we checked her for all genetic problems common to Old English Sheepdogs and Poodles. She was normal (clear) on 11 breed relevant results and 244 other health risks.
Hips and elbows mature at 2. We are waiting on test results for Maggie's PENNhip and OFA elbow evaluations
BIOSENSOR TRAINING
From day 3 to day 16, your puppy will receive biosensor training. Developed by the military, this is an early neurological stimulation program. It is also called the "Super Dog" program and is based on scientific facts about how puppies learn.
The Biosensor Program involves five exercises that will produce neurological stimulations, none of which naturally occur during the early life of the puppy. The benefits that have been observed by providing this stimulation are: Improved cardiovascular health, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and a greater immune system.
In learning tests the stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than the pups not stimulated. Secondary effects also determined were that the pups handled stressful situations with less whining, were much more calm, and made fewer errors.
EARLY SCENT INTRODUCTION (ESI)
ESI is done alongside Biosensor Training. It has been used for dogs who will be used for hunting, nosework, search and rescue work, detection, and tracking to enhance a puppy's ability to identify and react to specific scents.
Pet puppies also benefit from this simple stimulation and many breeders say they have seen improvements in confidence and stability in their pet
and service dogs.
Dogs that are taught and engage in scenting have a
more optimistic attitude toward life and with that, fewer behavior problems.
The process is simple: we introduce a new scent each day from day 3 to day 16 including natural items like grass, dirt, leaves, and evergreen needles; Fruits, Herbs, and Spices like lemons, apples, bananas, rosemary, and mint; Training Items like tennis balls, leather, and essential oils; Miscellaneous Items such as tolerant pets: cats, gerbils, or guinea pigs. We track whether the pup avoids, is interested in, or is neutral to each scent.
Why do we do this? If we can spend a few seconds each day for 13 days doing this for each pup and they are better for it, why wouldn't we?

TESTIMONIALS
What families are saying about their dogs

A couple bought a puppy from the 2021 litter for their son. This is what he has to say about her:
"Rahoxah is an amazing dog! She loves always. Rahoxah loves to play from the moment she wakes up, til she goes to bed. Her favorite toy is her frisbee. She could only have that toy and be happy the rest of her life. Rahoxah is the sweetest puppy girl in the world. She loves to cuddle and be cuddled. She's a big hugger and gives hugs all the time. We love our Rahoxah and couldn't be happier."

"We were lucky enough to provide a forever home for a puppy from Mopsy’s 2021 litter. From the day we brought Fonzy home, we knew he was going to be a fantastic addition to our family! Wags and Wool Sheepadoodles did an amazing job caring for the puppies and it paid off. Fonzy adjusted very well to our home and family. His initial potty training and crate training went great and it didn’t take us long to have confidence in the caliber of Fonzy’s breed and genetics. It was very evident he was socialized and used to being loved on from the minute he came into this world, but also that he had great potential to work as a service dog. We have completed extensive one on one training with Fonzy for approximately 6 months to prepare him to be my husband’s service dog. Fonzy is an exceptional student! He is a quick learner and very in tune to “his people”. I would highly recommend Wags and Wools Sheepadoodles to anyone looking for an amazing dog!"

"Wags and Wool is a fantastic breeder. I would get another pup from them without question; it will be the first place I go when I am ready for a another dog. I recommend them to everyone who sees my pup and wants one. Laurey and her family love these pups and spend so much time with them. As a surprise bonus our pup came home to us knowing his name and how to sit and starting to learn come. Well beyond my expectations. You are kept informed throughout the process; very open honest communication. These pups are super smart – they are easy to train and love to learn. I’ve been able to teach mine the name of 17 of his toys. Get one and you’ll be hooked on the breed and the breeder!"
Mary

We love our sheepadoodle completely. He is loving, intelligent, easy to train, hilarious, and brings so much joy to our family. We are so lucky to have found Laurey. She takes excellent care of the puppies, so that they are well socialized, healthy, happy, and starting to learn commands by the time they come home. She sends frequent photo and video updates as the puppies grow, and when it’s time to bring them home, she sends them with all their medical information and a care package. It’s obvious that she loves all her dogs and takes perfect care of them, along with the puppies. She continues to keep up with us (and Diggory) more than a year later. You couldn’t ask for a better first home for your puppy!
